It will be chilly for chili

Ok guys, it's Chili Sunday on December the 4th. We will be meeting right after service in the Chapel. Here's what you need to know...Show up after service hungry. Alex will be making a true Texas chili (no beans), Wayne will be making a batch of his famous chili and Will will be bringing an Indiana style chili. No one quite knows what that is, but remember, he carries a gun so I would just tell him how good it tastes. Hummmmm. We are still studying Daniel, so we will have a table discussion and a couple of handouts. See you Sunday!

Silvia is COOKING!!!

Saturday November 5th is our next Men's Ministry and guess what??? Silvia has volunteered to cook us breakfast. God has truly blessed us by her offering to make us breakfast again this season. So here is the deal...We are meeting on Saturday morning at 9am. We will have fresh coffee brewed and ready to serve. We will eat and fellowship. Have a testimony and then get into to lesson on "Not Panicking - Maintaining Strong Convictions and Confidence in Times of Chaos." It's chapter 2 of our study book on Daniel. It will be a great time and the food will be outstanding. Please note: We will have someone posted at the door to keep the woman out. The food is that good. See you then.

2011-2012 Season to Begin

So here we are at the beginning of fall. Football is in it's third week, baseball is winding down and the men of Venice Church are once again starting up their season of meeting once of month to fellowship, learn about God's plan for them, and to eat. This season we are going to be teaching out of "Being God's Man by Standing Firm Under Pressure." It's based on the life of Daniel and his companions. This year we won't be handing out books or having you guys do any reading ahead of time. Just show up, hang out, eat and open your heart and mind to God's word. We will have a quick opening then jumping into lively table discussion on various topics from the book. We will have copies of the book for you to take, but really its just about showing up and joining in the discussions.

Our first meeting will be Sunday, October 9 in the Chapel. We will have lunch ready around 11:30 after the morning service. And if you can't make it, plan on meeting us for our breakfast meeting on Saturday, November 5.

Grillin' at the Tripp's

Our last meeting for this season is coming up Sunday, May 15th right after service. We will be meeting at Bob Tripp's house at 1089 Palm Ave, just east of Lincoln. Brother Wayne will be working the grill and we will wrap up our book and start talking about the Men's Retreat, Labor Day weekend, that Wednesday to Sunday, to Lake Powell. It's a once in a lifetime boating trip. We will have more details over the summer and an e-Invite will be going out soon.

Come eat some burgers and dogs on Sunday and fellowship with your brothers in Christ.

April Wings and Creation

Wow it's already April and just 2 sessions left for this season of Men's Ministry. So here is what you need to know. We are meeting Sunday April 10th right after the morning service. Our Chicken Wing lunch menu is back by popular demand. We will have lots of wings from The Wing Stop. We will then watch a DVD called "The Privileged Planet." It's an hour long and it's real good stuff. YOU won't want to miss. We will recap what all happened at our service project last month and we will talk about the September boat trip. Answer Brad's email if you got one concerning the trip.

Service Project

Our yearly service project is upon us. The date is Saturday the 12th of March. We are meeting at the church at 9 am to gather the clothes the the church family has purchased for the men of Love Lifted Me ministry. We will carpool over to the church located in Inglewood where we will fellowship with their men, listen to testimony, break bread with them and close out hearing from their pastor about the great work God is doing to the men in their recovery program. It will be a special time so please make plans on being there.

Relationships...Men and Women...We Need Each Other

Married? Single? Dating? Have any friends? Then you have Relationships. What's a better time to discuss Relationships then during breakfast. And while we are at it...let's invite the Women's Ministry to join us. Scared? Don't be. We are going to eat, sip some coffee, fellowship and discuss how our Christian walk affects our Relationships.

Getting excited now? Here are the details: We will meet at Tony P's in the Marina at 10 to 11:30 on February 23rd. There will be a sign sheet and you will pre-select your breakfast choice and hopefully pay for your breakfast then. The cost is $15 a person and as always, pay what you can. We will have print outs of the chapter on Relationships from our book and they will be available at the information center before hand.
